Rhyme Calisthenics believes in the power of freestyle rap to not only elevate  an individual 's creativity but also unite communities and transform cities. Our unique approach teaches the art of freestyle through the RC Framework that is a combination of structured challenges, immersive exercises, and collaborative workshops that engage students from all backgrounds and skill levels.

• A Holistic Approach to Freestyle & Hip-Hop Culture: Unlike other programs that focus solely on the technical aspects of freestyle, we offer a comprehensive experience. Our curriculum blends freestyle techniques with an exploration of hip-hop culture as a whole. This broader approach ensures that students not only master the art of freestyling but also gain a deeper understanding of the culture that powers it.

• Freestyle Mastery: Learn the fundamental techniques and skills required to freestyle with confidence and creativity. Our curriculum covers everything from improvisational flow and wordplay to rhythm and delivery, empowering students to find their authentic voice.

• Creative Challenges: Our custom-designed freestyle and unique framework pushes students to think quickly, adapt, and experiment. These challenges are an essential part of developing the skills needed to freestyle under pressure, while also building a sense of community and camaraderie among participants.

• Critical Thinking Skills: Our curriculum doesn't just teach our students to memorize lyrics. It’s about developing critical thinking skills. Through writing, performance exercises, and continued practice opportunities, students learn to create as well as improvise song creation in real time. Our curriculum sharpens their mental agility and encourages a deeper connection to the world of free styling, rhyme and storytelling.

• Developing Critical Life Skills: Our youth hip-hop program goes beyond just teaching artistic techniques; we focus on developing valuable life skills such as:

• Confidence & Self-Expression: Students learn how to express themselves creatively, improving their communication skills, writing skills, and self-assurance through competitions and performance opportunities.

• Collaboration & Teamwork: Through group cyphers, wheel competitions, and collaborative writing sessions and performances, students develop essential teamwork skills, learning how to work together and respect one another’s talents.

• Promoting Social-Emotional Learning (SEL): Our academy emphasize social-emotional learning by helping students understand and manage their emotions through creative expression. The skills they develop in these sessions, such as emotional awareness, resilience, and conflict resolution, are crucial for both academic success and personal growth.

• Connection: Beyond the basics, we integrate a variety of hip-hop exercises that focus on collaboration, storytelling, and self-expression. Whether it's group cyphers, writing sessions, or storytelling through rap, each activity is designed to foster unity and connection in the classroom and beyond.

Through live performances, competition events, and collaborative projects, we give students the opportunity to showcase their talents and engage with the city’s creative energy, strengthening local communities and bringing people together through music and expression.

• Focus on Personal Growth and Discipline: Freestyle requires focus, practice, and perseverance. We teach our students how to overcome obstacles, stay disciplined in their practice, and set/achieve goals  in their personal lives. The skills they learn in our program—such as thinking on their feet, managing nerves, and consistently improving, translate into valuable life skills.
